2021 Season Wrap and AGM

Dear 2021 Members and Past Members,

What a year we had in 2021, it will go down as one of our most successful in history. A full pre-season then a 'scare', which saw rounds 14 and 15 struck from the GSFL calendar and our GSFLW teams being placed on pause during their finals campaign. Luckily, it was only temporary and then it was onwards and upwards from there!

At Willunga Football Club we expect excellence, it is what has driven our club over the past 146 years. We came away with: Club of The Year, Zone Pathways Award and four Premierships this season - A Grade, Open Women, U17 Women and Junior Colts. The Reserves unfortunately bowed out during the Preliminary Finals' stage and we had another Grand Final appearance for our Senior Colts. Our U14 Women, Mini Colts & Modified Colts teams' numbers continued to swell, and it was a pleasure to watch them play with the exuberant attitude that we all cherish about footy! It is no wonder that we saw three of our junior products make their SANFL League debuts in 2021. The Club is extremely proud of the growth within all facets of the 'smoothly oiled machine' that is Willunga Football Club.

To all the volunteers, players, coaches and officials who gave their time and effort throughout the 2021 season, we thank you greatly!

Our Annual General Meeting will be held at The Willunga Sports and Social Club on Thursday, October 28th at 7pm.

COMMITTEE POSITIONS TO BE FILLED:

President - provide strong, efficient and effective leadership of the football club in conjunction with Executive and General Committee (incumbent will not be seeking re-election)

Secretary - management of administrative duties in conjunction with President, Executive, General Committee and various management portfolios (incumbent will not be seeking re-election)

General committee positions - active participants to assist with management portfolios

Our Women’s Football Branch Management Team in 2021 was a great success and is looking for new members/volunteers to continue building on the platform laid this season.

We encourage all members to attend the AGM and joining the committee or a management team/portfolio to help the operations of our great club. It is a great way for you to personally implement change or improvement.

Constitution Amendments - The 2021 management committee has ratified the linked amendments to our constitution, with the aim being to 'modernise' some elements. A member vote will take place at the start of the AGM.

We still have two fundraisers ongoing which are the boxes of ‘kick like a girl’ Rose now at $89 and an opportunity to ‘buy your own picket’ at $50, to be displayed in front of the new change rooms.

The committee is now hard at work and planning for the 2022 Season, see you at the AGM!
