WFC is Seeking a Canteen Manager(s) for 2022

Willunga Football Club are looking for a well-organised person(s) with a friendly, welcoming manner to assist in the managing the club's canteen in 2022.


The role would require a well motivated and reliable person who is able to ensure the canteen is open for game days during the football season. (Home Matches - approx 9 Saturdays, 6 Sundays and potentially a Final or two in line with club fixtures TBC)


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish canteen hours and the rostering, supervision and support of all canteen volunteers and assist them as required

  • Submit stock orders to wholesalers and/or administration staff for ordering

  • Arrange or pick-up/delivery of all items. (Whilst most items are delivered direct to the club there maybe times where you are required to arrange pick up of supplies)

  • Receive and check all deliveries against delivery dockets

  • Organise all food prepared and sold and ensure the canteen is regularly stocked during for Match days

  • Obtain and account for any float from the Club

  • Handling money and correct balancing of same and counting of takings

  • Ensure the canteen and its contents are secure at all times

  • Maintain records as required by the Club and supply a short written report at each monthly committee meeting or as required

  • Be available on game days to manage the canteen

  • Ensure the canteen is kept in a hygienic manner, following safe food handling practices, cleaning of equipment and work spaces (a Certificate in Safe Food Handling is required, training can be provided)

  • Maintain the menu board and pricing in Square, (working with Treasurer)

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Customer and Stakeholder engagement skills and a desire to assist grow the club culture and values.

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to manage, coordinate and guide the work of others

  • Passionate about the club and dedicated to improving club practices

  • Positive attitude

  • Well organised

  • Team player

  • Working with Children Check - Police Clearance

  • First Aid Certificate (desirable)

  • Undertake Workplace Health and Safety training

HOURS PER WEEK:

Hours will vary from week to week depending on fixtures.

The Club may appoint multiple conveners to deal with different game days in line with our fixtures.


IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Someone passionate about the Club who is willing to provide a fantastic level of service to our members, players, supporters and visiting teams.

A background in running a café or catering business would be highly regarded. However, the club is also prepared to invest time to educate the right candidate and provide an opportunity for someone to gain experience in the role. Our previous Canteen manager will be available to assist with handover information. (Remuneration package available to the right candidate)
