The amended 2020 season is starting to get exciting with finals already underway for our Women’s teams with both teams progressing straight into the Grand Final, (to be played 6/9/20 at Encounter Bay Oval). Finals are also on the horizon for our Men’s squads but there is still plenty of work to be done to ensure qualification for each team.
Our final HOME match is against Myponga FC this weekend and as you would all be aware, more SA Health/Government regulations have recently been introduced. One of these is the requirement of a COVID Marshal. Some of our already stretched volunteer committee members will be taking on this role this weekend but we do require more volunteers to assist in this area for our Home Final, (19/9/20) and also in the 2021 season.
Willunga FC Management Committee recommends that all members complete the training so that:
A) We have multiple volunteers to draw upon.
B) Patrons/Spectators have an understanding of what’s required in the role to assist any prescribed Marshals to perform their duties.
Whilst the data shows that there are minimal active cases of Covid-19 in SA, the Club is only trying to follow and support the SA Health/Government regulations for our patrons’ safety. However, we do request that you follow any reminders that a COVID Marshal provides to you on the day.
Realistically, we believe all adults/patrons know and understand the requirements and should be responsible for themselves, particularly when:
· REMAINING SEATED WHILST CONSUMING ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
· SOCIAL DISTANCING (seated, standing or whilst in queuing)
*Full match day reminders here: https://www.willungafc.com.au/post/match-day-reminders
So please keep doing what we’ve doing and BRING A CHAIR to the footy if you are intending to consume alcohol. We will endeavour to provide more seating where possible also.
Thank you for your assistance in helping Willunga FC remain safe and making the volunteer job of a COVID Marshal easier.
Yours in Football
Willunga FC Management Committee 2020
