2020 Season Wrap & AGM - Tuesday, November 17th at 7pm

Dear 2020 Members and Past Members,

What can we say about 2020…? From a full pre-season (normality), to no season, a highly restricted pre-season and then the 9 round season that was… it was a ‘testing’ year for everyone to say the least. We can probably thank ourselves lucky to even get on the park this year, considering what is happening in other parts of Australia let alone the rest of the world.

Our new Change Room build was one of, if not the biggest building project in Willunga FC’s history and the completion of this high-class facility will hold the Club in good stead for years to come.

To all the volunteers, players, coaches and officials who gave their time and effort throughout the 2020 season, we thank you greatly!

At Willunga Football Club we expect excellence, it is what has driven our club over the past 145 years. We only came away with the one Premiership this season, (well done Mini Colts) our A Grade and Reserves unfortunately bowed out during the Preliminary Finals' stage and had Grand Final appearances for our Open’s, 16’s, Junior Colts and Senior Colts. The Club is extremely proud of the resilience and persistence you have all demonstrated throughout the season, we gave ourselves opportunities and after all, you’ve got to be in it to win it… Learn from the experiences, use it to drive you forward into the next stage of your footballing future, whether it be at the Demons or SANFL level and beyond.

Our Annual General Meeting will be held at The Willunga Sports and Social Club on Tuesday, November 17th at 7pm.

COMMITTEE POSITIONS TO BE FILLED:

Vice President - strong focus on Saturday game day, someone who will be present during this time, particularly management of home games.

Treasurer - continue the strategic management of our finances, this will be assisted by Kylie Scott-Smith who will focus on book-keeping and invoicing.

General committee positions - active participants to assist with managing sub-committees.

A Women’s Football Branch Sub-Committee has already been set up for next season, with Kelly Steele stepping into a Women’s Football Branch Secretary role. This will greatly assist in management of this massive growth area of our club. Contact Kelly to join.

We encourage all members to attend the AGM and joining the Committee or a Sub-Committee to help the management of our great Club is a great way for you to personally implement change or improvement.

2021 Coaches applications here.

We still have two fundraisers ongoing which are the boxes of ‘kick like a girl’ Rose at $120 and an opportunity to ‘buy your own picket’ at $50, to be displayed in front of the new change rooms.

The Committee is now hard at work and planning for the 2021 Season, see you then!

Yours in Football,

Willunga Football Club Management Committee 2020
