2021 Coaching Announcements - Seeking U16 Girl's Coach and Auskick Coordinator for 2021

Willunga Football Club would like to announce part of it's coaching line up for 2021

A GRADE: Mitch Portlock - Mitch's player relationships, professional approach and high expectations for all are the cornerstones of his broad skill set. As we continue to build a player driven culture to ensure we are always contenders, Mitch will leave no stone unturned to acquire our next piece of silverware. His comittment to developing our younger players will see us in good stead for many years to come.

OPEN WOMEN: Wade Phillips - Wade is a fresh face at Willunga and has recently stepped into the head coaching ranks. He 'tested the waters' in a GSFLW side last season and has now come across to Willunga with a reputation of player development and a player driven focus as part of his coaching ethos. Wade will be well supported by some wise Willunga heads and 'guest' coaching appearances to continue our rapid growth and development in Women's football. Welcome to Willunga FC Wade and family!

RESERVES: David Carnevale - Dave has a rich playing history with Willunga as a multiple Reserves premiership player. His recent experiences as an assistant A grade coach will be valuable and his personal trainer's background will add a new dimension to our pre-season. Dave has expressed his excitement re the opportunities to work with and aid the development of our emerging young talent. Welcome back Carnas and family!

SENIOR COLTS: Todd Steele - After a year off, Todd has re-joined our coaching ranks. His playing career is second to none and his last coaching stint culminated in a Junior Colts premiership. His player rapport and ability to get the best out of them is a feature. Todd will certainly get the Senior Colts players prepared for a strong 2021 campaign and also the next phases of their footballing journey.

JUNIOR COLTS: Sam McGowan - Sam is new to the head coaching ranks but has always been involved at WFC as an assistant around various teams. He is another highly decorated former player. Sam is a great family man with long-term links to the Willunga community. His passion for junior development stands out as a key attribute to build on our previously successful junior teams' history and culture.

U13's GIRLS: Heath Deboo & Casey Evans - Heath will continue as the U13's coach in 2021. In 2020 we saw our playing ranks swell in this team. Heath and his coaching team made great strides in players' skill development and creating a fun environment for all things football related. A direct quote from Heath at the end of the 2020 season was... 'this has been one of the most enjoyable years of coaching I have experienced!' We are also pleased to see Casey, one of our 2020 Open Women's co captains, assist Heath in 2021 and embark on her own coaching career.
